Bonaire wins ten reader awards from Scuba Diving Magazine

Scuba Diving Magazine, a magazine aimed at divers, conducted its annual survey of its readers. Following the annual survey, 2024 Reader's Choice Awards, ten awards were presented to Bonaire, including four number one listings. 

During the reader survey, dive destinations worldwide were divided into the Caribbean/Atlantic, Pacific/Indian and United States/Canada. All dive destinations were rated by readers by category. In total, there were thirteen categories within the survey. In ten of these, Bonaire was awarded prizes.

Bonaire wins awards

Among others, Bonaire won in the Best Shore Dive Destination category. For decades, the island has been known as the best shore dive destination in the Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean. Neighboring island Curaçao finished in second place in this category. In addition, Bonaire received the awards for best destination for beginner diving, best place for underwater photography and best place for snorkeling.

Bonaire also won two second places, namely in the Best Macro Life and Best Health of Marine Environment categories. In addition, the island won third place when it came to Best Overall Destination and Best Advanced Diving.

Finally, Bonaire also landed in the top 10 in the Best Value and Best Wall Diving categories. The survey indicates that Bonaire continues to be a popular destination for divers and snorkelers. In the Big Animals, Wreck Diving and Cave, Cavern and Grotto categories, Bonaire fell out of the prizes.  

Scuba Diving Magazine

Scuba Diving Magazine is issued ten times a year and has a circulation of 75,000. The Reader's Choice survey is conducted every year. This year, more than 13,000 Scuba Diving readers participated in the survey. The results of the 2024 Readers' Choice Awards are published on the website of Scuba Diving and in the November issue of the magazine.
